Invisibobble

If you haven't heard, Invisibobble is the latest trend to amazing hair care, so what exactly is it? It is a trace less hair ring, which comes in a radical design. Compared to regular hair ties, this hair ring looks like a telephone wire, YES!! You read right, it looks like a telephone wire, but don't let this hair ring fool you... It is amazing! After doing some research on the Invisibobble, I searched a few online stores which stocked it such as Rubybox and Retail Box. I also checked a few local salons, which really recommended this... At first I thought they just wanted me to spend R80 on three plastic hair ties, but I was wrong.
The Invisibobble is promoted for various reasons, which are:
  • It is traceless
  • It avoids headaches
  • Doesn't give you split ends
  • Has a strong grip
  • Is for all hair types

I purchased the pack which contains three different colours, mine contained a black, hot pink and red Invisibobble. The first one I used was a red. My hair is pin straight and I hate getting a hair line, so the Invisibobble promised no hair lines, YES! It lived up to the promise. Over time the Invisibobble does get loose, so you need to give it a few days to get back to its original shape. I will admit, I snapped the red one in a day, so I didn't think they were going to last long... Luckily the rest were quite long lasting and are still going strong!
So I'd say R80 is quite steep for some hair ties, right? Exactly so if you would like something similar which gives you the same features... I'd recommend checking the Woolworths hair range, I purchased the Invisibobble dupe for R25, plus it included 5 of these hair rings! I'd really recommend you give it a try... It is amazing and you would definitely believe me when you try it.

P.S. : I am super sorry for not including my own pictures!

Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain

So for a few years, I've been eyeing the YSL Glossy Stain, but it is quite pricey for just a glossy stain, so when I heard about this L'Oreal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain, I couldn't hold in my excitement. I rushed to the closest Foschini and got my hands on a Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain in the shade 300 Juliet. So I'm going to talk about the packaging first, I really like the packaging, it looks classy, with a shimmering gold casing, as well as a gold lid, and a see through window to view the beautiful colour you're purchasing. Plus it has a little embossed gold plate which had the L'Oreal logo, want something luxurious? This is definitely it! Trust me... I got a few looks from some curious ladies when I applied this gorgeous Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain.
The applicator is quite different, than your regular applicator, it is more in a downwards tear drop shape, which I am assuming should help you with a more even application as well as a quicker one as it covers more of your lips at a slick brush.  I personally thought the applicator shape was different, but helped me with an easier application, I'd give L'Oreal a thumbs up for designing that applicator. The actual product is difficult to explain, because it is neither a lipstick, nor is it a lipgloss, it is basically like a lipgloss, which gives coverage like a lipstick, yet stays on like a balm stain... Confusing right? The stain has this gel kind of scent (if you've tried gel stains, the scent will be familiar).

The colour I chose, looks very red in the tube, but surprisingly isn't that red when applied to lips. I'd say it gives lips a fair amount of colour. The texture of this is similar to lip gloss, it is slightly sticky but surprisingly light... I'd say that even though it is sticky, it gives lips a slight silky feeling when first applied. After getting used to this Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain, I really like it. In fact I am going to purchase a few more! I like how it stays on for hours without fading, I was more surprised that after eating, the stain didn't fade quickly. As it did fade, it faded into an even light tint but still had a little glossy look, so it didn't make lips look all weird.
The only problem I'd have with this product would be the weird sticky moisture layer which is left on lips right at the end, but it is nothing that make up remover cannot deal with. I'd give the product a thumbs up completely, because it is affordable, doesn't dry out lips, the colour lasts quite long, it is compact to throw into a clutch bag for a night out, plus it is available in quite a few colours. So if a silky glossy kind of look is what you're looking for... I'd definitely recommend this L'Oreal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain to you!

Inglot HD Illuminizing Loose Powder

So I am addicted to the beautiful shimmer look you get with any illuminating powders or liquid illuminators, this Inglot HD Illuminizing loose powder was more of a splurge product which I wanted as soon as it hit the shelves, before I buy a splurge product, I always test it out, so I tried out shade 45 at the Inglot counter. Shade 45 is a beautiful golden shimmer powder which has soft flecks of gold shimmer. I had a full face of make up but with nothing illuminating on my face, the friendly consultant dusted off some of this magical shimmer powder all over my face, surprisingly it was visible but in a beautiful subtle glowing way, perfect for any day look! I asked her to immediately give me one of these gorgeous powders in shade 45.
When I got home... It was time to play with my new toys! The packaging of this product is just gorgeous, it comes in a sleek semi matte packaging box with all the details about the product as well as the word 'HD' in embossed gold, screams some class to me! Once you've opened the box, there is a round little tub which is see through (you can see the shimmering powder) with a classic polished black lid with "INGLOT" printed in white.  I'd say the entire tub can fit in the palm of my hand, which makes it quite compact and easy to carry around.
Once you open the lid (screw on lid, so I'd say no product spillage for you if you're traveling) I found an applicator, this has to be the softest, most velvety feeling applicator I've ever seen... Just by looking at this applicator, I can tell you, this product is a luxurious one! The container has 12 holes to allow product to come through for use, I'd recommend keeping the sticker to seal the container after use because sometimes if you're traveling you wouldn't want extra to stay in the container.
So I haven't used the applicator to apply this Illuminizing powder because I'd say it would be recommended more for using the powder on your body. I used a fluffy powder brush to apply to my entire face for a beautiful glowing look. This powder has such a fine texture, it feels light and absolutely invisible on skin, yet you always have a radiant and glowing appearance, I'd day it lasts almost the entire day on your face, because I've used it for almost a full day.
You can use this HD Illuminizing loose powder has a full face illuminator (for day time use as well as night time use), as a body illuminator or even to highlight your face and use on cheekbones and places where the light catches on your face. So I'd recommend you purchase this product. The actual product is only 4.5g which might put you off, but you really need a little to give you a gorgeous glow so basically this product will last you a good couple of years! Plus, if gold isn't your colour, this product is available in a few shades.
