Oh So Heavenly Creme Oil : Pure Honey and Almond

 

This has to be one of the sweetest and most relaxing scents I've ever fallen in love with. The fragrance is light and has a sweet scent which leaves you surrounded by luxury and feeling completely indulged. If you're looking for a reason to pamper yourself, make sure you have a Creme Oil Bath Silk. I've been using this Creme Oil Bath Silk for quite some time and I've grown to love this rich scent which lingers on my skin. 

The Oh So Heavenly Creme Oil Bath Silk is something very unique. It is not actually a bubble bath, it's actually an oil and a creme mixed in a bottle. If you allow this bottle to stand upright for an hour, you will see the white creme separate from the oil and appear on the top. However to be completely indulged...you have to mix Ithese two separate mixtures together and you'll notice a runny slightly tinted mixture (the Pure Honey and Almond is tinted a slight golden colour)

Once you pour this dreamy mixture into the bath filled with hot water, you will notice a few bubbles, but this isn't actually a bubble bath so these bubbles don't actually last. The bath silk feels absolutely dreamy on skin and keeps skin feeling amazing. What could be more relaxing than indulging yourself in a bath like this?  

This Creme Oil Bath Silk is very nourishing and if you really love the scent, I'd recommend getting the body lotion to use in conjunction with this bath silk. If Honey and Almond isn't for you, there are two more luxurious scents available. The Creme Oil Bath Silk retails at R35 for a 750ml bottle, which is quite a lot of product for the price! I would recommend you get this... Especially for a pamper session which you know you deserve. Just be careful when stepping out of the bathtub because it can be extremely slippery. 

 

 

Lush Cosmetics Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter

So at first when the very beautiful and talented Luzanne from Pink Peonies and my beautiful out of this world blogger friend Michelle from Ordinary Misfit raved about this cuticle butter, I was a little upset because at the time, there was no such thing as Lush Cosmetics in Durban and I never thought I'd get to ever try this out. Of course, who would know better than the two beautiful ladies who had the most amazing nail art skills and nails (can you smell my jealousy?) Few months later... I was lucky to get my rather under moisturised hands on this gorgeous cuticle butter. So I couldn't care less about my cuticles... I can feel the angry mob of nail lovers come after me for saying that, but I honestly didn't worry much about it, because I just never thought about it...until I purchased this holy grail product. 

I'm going to start of with what Lush says about the product: "Softens hard skin all over the body, especially the cuticles. We made Lemony Flutter to soften your cuticles; it’s our thickest cream out there. It’s so good at softening your cuticles and nourishing your nails that Lush customers have been using it to soften and nourish lots of other body parts like their feet, elbows and knees. Fortunately, it’s a very reasonably priced cream, so you can afford to use it as widely as you wish. Take more care of your extremities and invest a small sum in a Lemony pot." 

What do I think of the Lemony Flutter Cuticle Cream: Let's be honest here... As soon as I opened this pot I thought... Yummy Woolworths Lemon Cheese Cake drizzled with lemon sweet sauce, everything I needed to make me crave cheese cake. What everyone else asked me... Who smells like lemon grass (trust me, my family loves the smell of lemon grass) OKAY! I get carried away...

Back to my review now! 

So I used this deliciously tempting cuticle butter as a hand cream for a few days and my hands instantly felt soft and all smooth, and now I have separation issues and don't leave my lemony flutter away from me. My favourite part is definitely the texture, you know it is a good rich texture and is definitely going to give you the most softest hands ever. It is completely non greasy, however it leaves hands with a soft shine which looks a little oily.  

 

I'd still give this product a thumbs up (notice how soft my thumbs look thanks to this product?) It is affordable, because R105 for 50g is not such a bad price for this miracle cream, and once you've tried it... You know what I mean. Especially because winter is around the corner, I'd recommend it twice as much, so say hello to softer, smoother hands in a matter of days...

Durban bloggers were lucky enough to get a glimpse of the 27 Pinkx range in Durban on Thursday, 8 May 2014. The Palettes from 27 Pinkx are absolutely beautiful, I really couldn't get over them, I was really lucky to get to play around with the palettes at the 27 Pinkx launch! The eye shadows are soft and have a gorgeous buttery feel, I really can't explain how gorgeous the shades are and how perfectly pigmented they are. More about the 27 Pinkx Durban Launch

 

While our night was filled with the most yummy food, ranging from perfectly cut sandwiches, to tempting little treats, to the freshly baked macaroons which we couldn't resist. I think the most fascinating part of the night was getting to have a high tea with all of the bloggers as well as Khatija and Danielle and play around with the gorgeous make up! All the bloggers were gifted gorgeous 27 Pinkx make up brushes, so look out for a review soon!

Garnier BB Cream Collection

It has been almost two years since Ganier has launched their amazing BB Cream on South African shores. Garnier BB Cream was the first BB Cream to ever launch in South Africa, and is still amazing after all these years. I have the collection of BB Creams which I change in the months to suit my skin and weather conditions. So the BB cream stands for Blemish Balm or Beauty Balm is an all in one formula which helps you achieve a better and more perfect skin with a fraction of the time.

The Garnier Original BB Cream 

When the original BB Cream came out, I was obsessed, I wouldn't go a day without it, this BB Cream promised to even skin tone, hydrate skin, renew skin, protect skin as well as brighten skin. The BB Cream also helps with many skin concerns such as dullness, discolouration as well as dryness.  I have a combination skin so sometimes my skin can get oily, so I always use a translucent powder over to give me a dewy semi matte finish. This BB Cream is especially amazing during winter for both dry and oily skin because it gives you the right amount of moisture which you need during the months skin really needs it. The original BB Cream has a thick rich consistency and gives a buildable coverage. The finish is very dewy and gives skin a fresh look. Personally when I use the original BB Cream, all imperfections are hidden and my skin looks flawless. The scent is a lovely clean Garnier scent which I really like. 

Available in shades: Light, Medium and Dark

The Garnier BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin 

This was the second BB Cream to launch from the Garnier Range, this BB Cream promises an anti shine and non stop mattifying coverage, blurs pores and imperfect imperfections, evens tone and boosts a heathy glow as well as moisturises and contains SPF 20. Compared to the original, this BB Cream is far too runny for me. It is like applying liquid foundation so I apply this BB Cream using a Blender Baby Sponge. It gives skin a good coverage which can be buildable. However the medium shade which I use with the original is much darker than the BB Cream for oily skin. I've noticed that it isn't a completely matte finish as well, it is a semi matte finish with a sheer coverage, which I like for those hot days because you don't want to feel like you have half a bottle of foundation plastered on. Plus my skin has a lovely soft feeling after applying this BB Cream.

Garnier BB Cream Pure Active 

This is the latest BB Cream from the Garnier Range, this BB Cream promises to hydrate, even skin tone, help with blackheads, mattifies and covers redness. So this BB Cream is a little different as it is part of the Pure Active range and contains 2% anti bacterial Salicylic Acid which helps improve imperfections by fighting them as well as covering them up. I really like this BB Cream, the scent is exactly like the Garnier Pure Active range and the consistency is just perfect, not too runny and not too thick. It gives the perfect coverage without feeling heavy on skin and lasts much longer than the original BB Cream. It comes in SPF 15 and covers the redness perfectly, which is really something I prefer when choosing BB Creams because nobody wants blotchy looking skin. I haven't really been using this BB Cream long enough to give a full review so as soon as I feel I have, I will definitely do a full review, so keep a look out for my review!

Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain

 

So for a few years, I've been eyeing the YSL Glossy Stain, but it is quite pricey for just a glossy stain, so when I heard about this L'Oreal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain, I couldn't hold in my excitement. I rushed to the closest Foschini and got my hands on a Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain in the shade 300 Juliet. So I'm going to talk about the packaging first, I really like the packaging, it looks classy, with a shimmering gold casing, as well as a gold lid, and a see through window to view the beautiful colour you're purchasing. Plus it has a little embossed gold plate which had the L'Oreal logo, want something luxurious? This is definitely it! Trust me... I got a few looks from some curious ladies when I applied this gorgeous Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain. 

The applicator is quite different, than your regular applicator, it is more in a downwards tear drop shape, which I am assuming should help you with a more even application as well as a quicker one as it covers more of your lips at a slick brush.  I personally thought the applicator shape was different, but helped me with an easier application, I'd give L'Oreal a thumbs up for designing that applicator. The actual product is difficult to explain, because it is neither a lipstick, nor is it a lipgloss, it is basically like a lipgloss, which gives coverage like a lipstick, yet stays on like a balm stain... Confusing right? The stain has this gel kind of scent (if you've tried gel stains, the scent will be familiar). 

 

The colour I chose, looks very red in the tube, but surprisingly isn't that red when applied to lips. I'd say it gives lips a fair amount of colour. The texture of this is similar to lip gloss, it is slightly sticky but surprisingly light... I'd say that even though it is sticky, it gives lips a slight silky feeling when first applied. After getting used to this Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain, I really like it. In fact I am going to purchase a few more! I like how it stays on for hours without fading, I was more surprised that after eating, the stain didn't fade quickly. As it did fade, it faded into an even light tint but still had a little glossy look, so it didn't make lips look all weird. 

The only problem I'd have with this product would be the weird sticky moisture layer which is left on lips right at the end, but it is nothing that make up remover cannot deal with. I'd give the product a thumbs up completely, because it is affordable, doesn't dry out lips, the colour lasts quite long, it is compact to throw into a clutch bag for a night out, plus it is available in quite a few colours. So if a silky glossy kind of look is what you're looking for... I'd definitely recommend this L'Oreal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain to you!

 

Lush Cosmetics Popcorn Lip Scrub

 

 Who doesn't love the scent of freshly popped popcorn, you know... The popcorn which is still warm from the pot, where you can smell the buttery scent which really makes you crave for that yummy crisp popcorn? Sorry to make you super hungry for some popcorn, but I promise this review is going to get you drooling! So Lush Cosmetics is known for their yummy products, this one is no exception!

What does Lush say: "Be a blockbuster success and have them queuing for the sequel. Coconut oil, sugar and a buttery caramel taste" 

 

How to use: " Scrub and buff your lips to softness, lick of the excess and then apply your favourite Lush balm" 

What do I think: Packaging - I like the packaging, it is a cute glass jar with a black lid. I think the text really attracts me to the packaging because it is retro and the word play on the packaging is quite good. 

What do I think: Product - Besides having me drool over this product every time I use it, I'd give it a thumbs up, it isn't too harsh for lips, and gives my lips a lovely soft and smooth feel. It nourishes lips so you don't feel that lips are dry or uncomfortable, plus this is a must have for the upcoming winter months because nobody really likes dry lips. 

My final verdict: So this is a definite repurchase! As soon as I run out, I'll run back into a Lush store and get a new one. I think for the time it lasts and for it to be vegan and all the effort out into making it, it isn't so bad to pay R95 for it. I've been using it for over a month now and there is still almost a full jar left, so I'd say it will take me a good few months to finish up this jar! If popcorn isn't your thing.. There is a bubble gum flavour, as well as a mint julips flavour.

Spotted Brand: SheWolf

So I've recently spotted a new brand on the market, a proudly South African brand, and even better... a proudly Durban brand called SheWolf. After sneaking a peek at their website, I had already mentally created a wishlist of all the things I knew I needed to own from their website!

So a bit more into detail about SheWolf, the fantasy brand was founded in 2013 by an extraordinary lady called Nadine Singh and is based in Durban.
